Proximity to the Sky Meadows State Park and the G.R. Thompson Wildlife Area grant easy access to the Appalachian Trail, as well as providing excellent fishing spots for stream and warm water fishing. Crockett Park offers boat rentals, boat launch facilities, nature trails, volleyball courts, and picnic shelters for a day out at the lake, and the many other parks in Fauquier County have plenty of playground facilities and outdoor pools for the kids.
