NC., Kidde Aerospace/Fenwal Safety Systems and Smithfield Foods Inc. Fishing and hunting are popular sports with hunters bagging deer, turkeys, occasional wild hogs and small game birds. Fishing for crappie, bass and catfish and other species draws fishermen to Contentnea Creek, Buckhorn Reservoir, Mill Run, and Marsh, Hominy, Cattail, Aycock and Goss swamps. Other attractions include Imagination Station Science & History Museum, Wilson Botanical Gardens and North Carolina Baseball Museum. Wilson County Schools provides K-12 public education. Wilson Community College and Barton College offer higher education.
